B Complex Select - 120 Capsules | Moss Nutrition
Key Features
Vitamin B1 also known as thiamin is necessary for the metabolism of carbohydrates, amino acid synthesis and fatty acid synthesis and is needed for the proper functioning of cardiovascular and neurological systems. Thiamin deficiency can cause exhaustion, neuropathy, emotional disturbances and neurological problems.
Vitamin B2 (as riboflavin HCl and riboflavin-5-phosphate) combines with certain proteins to form flavoproteins, essential to the metabolism of carbohydrates. Studies suggest it may prevent migraines.
Vitamin B3 (as niacinamide). Niacinamide may improve glucose control as well as alleviate symptoms of osteoarthritis and inflammation.
Pyridoxine HCl and Pyridoxyl-5-Phosphate are the metabolically active coenzyme forms of Vitamin B6 used in our formula. Researchers are exploring correlations between carpal tunnel syndrome and Vitamin B6 deficiency. Studies on the nutritional status of B6 and its role in the production of both serotonin and GABA, the neurotransmitters that affect emotional states (depression and anxiety) and pain perception, suggest its use in treating premenstrual syndrome in women. An additional beneficial effect includes strengthening concentration in people with attention disorders.
Folate (as Quatrefolic (6S)-5-Methyltetrahydrofolic acid, Glucosamine salt) is a better-absorbed form of folic acid with greater stability. Most well-known for its positive effects on young women and expectant mothers, folate's overall function in the human body is to assist in red blood cell production, cell growth and DNA synthesis. Its role in heart and artery health is the subject of numerous studies.
Vitamin B12 is found naturally in abundance in meat so vegetarians and vegans may be more susceptible to a deficiency that can manifest in numerous symptoms including depression and asthma. Studies suggest that individuals over age 60 are less able to process protein-bound vitamin B12, resulting in anaemia and subsequent digestive issues. Our formulation uses methylcobalamin, the form of B12 that is a methyl donor (a substance that can transfer a methyl group to another substance) based on the scientific theory that adequate methylation of DNA can suppress harmful genes, such as cancer genes. This methylated form of B12 is believed to be helpful against cognitive decline in conditions such as Alzheimer's.
Biotin, (Vitamin B7), has been studied for its roles in improving blood sugar control (by aiding the body's ability to process glucose) and assisting the body's metabolism of fats, proteins and carbohydrates.
Pantothenic Acid (Vitamin B5) helps overall immune function and wound repair and regulates the body's production of stress hormones.
Choline Bitartrate has been added to our formulation. It is grouped with the B-complex vitamins and is also water-soluble and therefore optimum levels in the body are aided by daily consumption. It is a trimethylated molecule and helps lipid metabolism and is a precursor to the manufacture of neurotransmitters.
Inositol is another thoughtful addition to this B complex formulation and, like choline, considered a part of the B vitamin family. It also aids in lipid metabolism and healthy nerve function.
